About us

The Adult Psychiatric Clinic is part of the division of psychiatry and disabilities. The mission of the operation is to offer specialized psychiatric care to adults with severe psychiatric illnesses in southern and western Södermanland. The goal of the operation is to achieve improved mental health, quality of life, and functional ability for our patients.

The psychiatric clinic in Nyköping is a small and well-functioning clinic, located at the hospital with the opportunity for collaboration with somatic clinics. The clinic has two inpatient wards, one focused on intensive care/addiction and the other on general psychiatry/psychosis. Our psychiatric outpatient care is divided into general psychiatry, psychosis, and addiction, and we have outpatient clinics in both Nyköping and Katrineholm.

The Psychiatric Intensive Care and Addiction Ward (Piva/addiction) is an inpatient ward that belongs to the psychiatric clinic. The ward consists of a psychiatric intensive care unit with 7 beds and an addiction section with 2 beds intended for patients with addiction and substance abuse problems. The team consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and caregivers.

We work person-centered, evidence-based, and are in constant innovative development.

Your tasks

As a nurse, you will lead the team and be ultimately responsible for nursing care. You will lead the work in agreement with other professional groups in the team. Your other tasks include documentation, medication distribution, conversations with patients and relatives, as well as some telephone advice.

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop a psychiatric intensive care unit based on evidence-based nursing.

Your qualifications

You who apply are a licensed nurse. Specialist training in psychiatry is an advantage.

As a person, you are stable and secure in your professional role. You are responsible, can take your own initiatives while being a team player. In your interactions with patients, you have a professional attitude and a holistic view of the individual. Great importance is placed on personal qualities.
